The Inauguration of Barack Obama

Drew Angerer

This essay tries to capture the exuberant and patriotic atmosphere surrounding the historic inauguration of Barack Obama as the United States’ 44th president. With the city busting at its seams and the Mall overflowing, the energy, excitement and hopefulness of a nation was on full display during the days leading up to and on January 20, 2009.
